This facility holds a Level III trauma designation and provides dedicated radiation oncology services within a structured outpatient clinical environment. The facility maintains established clinical protocols and appropriate on-site resources to support coordinated oncology patient management throughout the coverage period. Infrastructure is in place to accommodate locum tenens clinicians during day shift coverage on an ongoing basis.

Southeast Missouri offers clinicians on assignment access to a range of outdoor and natural attractions suited to varied interests. Elephant Rocks State Park features billion-year-old granite boulders accessible by hiking trails, and Taum Sauk Mountain - the highest point in the state - offers a lookout tower and Mina Sauk Falls. The Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center provides free admission, interactive exhibits on regional wildlife and cultural history, and two miles of nature trails. The area also supports fishing, camping, and gem panning for those seeking outdoor recreation.

The radiation oncologist will provide outpatient radiation oncology services Monday through Friday on a day shift schedule, with no call requirements. Clinical responsibilities include delivering radiation therapy treatments, managing on-treatment patients, and conducting follow-up visits within the outpatient setting. Clinicians must have demonstrated experience with RayStation treatment planning software, which is a required component of this assignment. Board certification in Radiation Oncology, prescriptive authority, and an active state medical license are required.
