Cardiovascular Surgery Locums Job in Illinois | 24-Hour Call | Sporadic Holiday/Vacation Coverage | Assignment #117661

Coverage Details
-- Sporadic holiday and vacation coverage
-- Credentialing time frame: 90-120 days for full privileges

Shift Details
-- 24-hour call, 7am-7am
-- Weekly clinic day may include new patient consults, basic office visits, pre- and post-op visits
-- Weekend coverage required

Requirements
-- Board Certified in Cardiovascular Surgery / Thoracic Surgery
-- Active Illinois license/CSR; candidates with an IMLC LOQ will also be considered
-- At least 2 years of post-training experience, including vascular and thoracic experience
-- BLS certification

Required Procedures / Skills
-- Coronary artery bypass
-- Aortic valve replacement
-- Mitral valve replacement
-- Left atrial appendage repair
-- Aortic root replacement/repair
-- Thoracotomy
-- Lung resection
-- Lobectomy

Assignment Details
-- Adult and geriatric patient population, including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial patients
-- Approximately 5-7 surgical cases per week and 10 consults per week
-- EMR: Epic
-- Support staff includes rounding APPs on weekends and CV first assists, including RNFA and APP support
-- Level I Trauma Center
-- Teaching hospital; providers may be asked to participate with students, and locum providers can perform elective cases while covering
