General Surgery Inpatient Locums Job in Central Florida | Seeking 7-14 Days per Month of 24-Hour Call Coverage

Jackson and Coker's valued client in the Tampa area is seeking 1-2 General Surgeons to assist with inpatient 24-hour call coverage (cross covering 2 facilities). The facility is willing to work with two physicians that can each cover one full week per month (will have specific dates and need scheduling flexibility) and who can qualify for emergency privileges (must not have any malpractice cases / settlements or NPDB hits in the last 10 years).

2026 Coverage Need: 
* Seeking a minimum of 7-14 days in September, October, November & December (potential to extend into 2027)
* Specific dates being identified (needing candidates with flexible schedules if possible)
* 24hr call coverage with a minimum of 8 hours of inpatient work each day 

Additional information about assignment #116666:
- Active Florida license, Florida registered DEA and Board Certification required, MUST have a clean NPDB for last 10 years minimally, must have active case logs from last 12 months
- Skills strongly preferred: upper/lower scopes, minimally invasive / endoscopic surgery (ability to do robotics), Proficiency with Epic EMR 
- Facility detail: will be covering the ED at 2 affiliated community hospitals (~150 beds & ~80 beds) simultaneously (facilities located approximately 15 minutes apart in driving distance)
- No trauma designation, full anesthesia available, Epic EMR
- Will primarily work at one facility (65-70% of time), but should expect to regularly work at both locations 
- Hours to anticipate: You can anticipate working between 9-12 hours/day (must include a minimum of 8 hours of inpatient work in your daily rate)
- Daily Consult Volume: Average patient volume of 12-17 PPD from both EDs combined 
- Daily Procedure Volume: 3-5 procedures/day between both facilities 
- Scope coverage is to help with GI overflow as needed (all ED scopes)
- Patient population: True acute care general surgery - sick, elderly patient population  
- Duties while covering: covering EDs + completing daily patient rounding, seeing emergent/new consults + doing emergency/inpatient procedures
- Support staff: will have weekday APP support to round at both hospitals & start at the facility opposite of you
