This 294-bed community acute care hospital maintains established clinical protocols and the infrastructure necessary to support call-based general surgery coverage on an on-site basis. The facility provides comprehensive inpatient surgical services and is structured to support locum tenens coverage across the general surgery service line. Clinical operations are configured to ensure quality surgical care delivery throughout each assigned coverage period.

The area offers clinicians on assignment access to a range of outdoor and cultural attractions suited to varied interests. Points of interest include Vollis Simpson Whirligig Park, the Wilson Rose Garden, the Wilson Botanical Gardens, and Lake Wilson, providing options for outdoor exploration and leisure. The J. Burt Gillette Athletic Complex spans 113 acres and features eight regulation-size soccer fields, while the North Carolina Baseball Museum draws additional visitors to the area. Clinicians will provide 24-hour general surgery call coverage on an on-site inpatient basis, with coverage required November 26 through November 30 and potentially ongoing. Primary responsibilities include performing general surgery procedures, laparoscopic surgery, minor orthopedic interventions, chest tube insertion, and vascular access device placement, while maintaining continuous availability for both scheduled and emergent surgical needs throughout each assigned call period. Call coverage is a required component of this assignment, and board certification in General Surgery is required for all clinicians considered for this position.
