Orthopedic Surgery Position - Central Michigan
Job Description
Facility is seeking a BC/BE Orthopedic Surgeon with an interest in general orthopedics with a component of basic sports medicine (knee/shoulder arthroscopy, ACL reconstructions, rotator cuff repairs) and interest in community or athletic team coverage
--Stepping into an immediate patient base with robust elective arthroscopy and soft-tissue case volume; structured senior practice transition
--Typically 2–3 clinic days and 2–3 OR days per week; flexible group block time coordinated collaboratively
--Inpatient surgical suites with dedicated orthopedic trauma and swing rooms, radiolucent fracture tables, intraoperative fluoroscopy, and advanced arthroscopic video towers; outpatient cases at a nearby surgery center
--Stryker preferred system; ORs staffed by employed surgical circulators, scrub techs, and certified first-assist Physician Assistants
--Practice-funded scribes at no overhead cost; dictation options available; dedicated MAs handle rooming, casting, splinting, and dressing changes
--10+ APP network; personal APP support assigned as volume expands
--Dedicated inpatient APP rounding service weekdays with structured weekend APP rounding rotation
--ER call 3–5 shifts per month (~48 days per year); taken from home with standard callback; unassigned ER call shifts compensated separately
--Co-located with sports medicine physicians, surgical podiatrists, APPs, and orthotics and prosthetics
--EMR: Epic
--Open to graduating residents/fellows and experienced surgeons
--MGMA-benchmarked base salary guarantee for typically 2 years; high-upside wRVU production bonuses above threshold
