Thoracic Oncologic Surgery Position - Minneapolis area
Job Description
Hospital is seeking Locum Thoracic Oncologic Surgeon to provide coverage starting ASAP
- Contract Length: Ongoing
- Mix of 8- and 12-hour shifts totaling 40 hours per week + overnight and weekend call
- 2 days in clinic, 2 in surgery/procedures, and 1 flexible day for administrative or surgical overflow
- Amount of coverage needed per month: 40 hours per week
- Call is divided among the surgeons.
- Support staff: PAs, a nurse navigator, clinic RNs, and a provider coordinator
- Patient age: Adult
- Skills required: Provide advanced surgical care for thoracic oncology patients, including those with lung, chest wall, mediastinal, and pleural diseases. Performs a broad range of thoracic procedures including minimally invasive thoracic surgery, robotic surgery, VATS, advanced bronchoscopy, and endoscopic procedures for lungs and esophagus
- Board Certification: Yes, Thoracic Surgery by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery, or in Thoracic Cardiovascular Surgery by the AOA Board of Surgery required upon hire
- Qualifications preferred: Completion of Thoracic Oncology Fellowship, 2+ years of trained thoracic or cardiothoracic surgeon with an emphasis in thoracic malignancy, 2+ years of robotic surgical skills
- Required: MN license or IMLC, DEA, ACLS-BLS Tier 2
