Coverage Details
- - December 1, 2026 – March 31, 2027
- - Need is expected to be 3 months or longer
- - 16 open shifts currently available in December
- - Additional coverage needed January through March
Shift Details
- - Weekday shift: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- - Weekday call: 4:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- - Weekend call: 6:00 AM – 7:00 AM
Requirements
- - Active Massachusetts license
- - Fellowship in Surgical Critical Care
- - DEA
- - CSR
Required Procedures / Skills
- - Inpatient trauma surgery
- - Surgical critical care
- - Emergency general surgery coverage
Assignment Details
- - Trauma inpatient census: 30–50 patients daily
- - Two attending physicians cover the trauma service during daytime hours
- - 10–20 trauma activations per 24-hour period
- - Approximately 90–95% blunt trauma cases
- - Some call shifts include emergency general surgery coverage in addition to trauma
- - Emergency general surgery consult volume ranges from none to as many as 8 consults
- - Operative volume ranges from none to as many as 3 emergency cases
- - APP support includes 2 daytime APPs and 1 nighttime APP
- - Resident support includes PGY3 or PGY4 residents and interns
- - EMR: Epic
