Urology Permanent South Carolina Ref #21232415

Job Description

Prisma Health — South Carolina's largest health system — is recruiting its next Division Chief of Urology to lead, grow, and shape the future of urologic care across the Midlands region. This is a rare opportunity for a physician executive to combine clinical leadership, program-building, and academic influence at scale: directing a multi-hospital urology service line serving a market of more than one million people, backed by some of the most advanced surgical technology in the state.

The Opportunity
  • Direct and grow the urology service line across Central South Carolina — spanning multiple hospitals (1,000+ beds), ambulatory surgery centers, and outpatient practices serving a 1M+ population base.
  • Build the team: lead recruitment of fellowship-trained subspecialists and shape the division's long-term growth strategy — this is a builder's role, not a caretaker's.
  • Protected clinical focus: dedicated uro-hospitalist support limits inpatient coverage burden for faculty, freeing the Chief and division to concentrate on strategic growth and complex care.
  • A true academic platform: general and plastic surgery residents rotate through the service alongside University of South Carolina School of Medicine students — with clear runway to found a dedicated urologic surgery training program.

    What Sets This Program Apart
  • State-of-the-art equipment and technology including the only Video Urodynamics lab in South Carolina, Artemis MRI Fusion Technology, robust da Vinci Robotic Surgical System
  • Strong and experienced group of (5) APPs to aid both outpatient and inpatient care
  • Urology service line is executive leadership's top priority
