Supervisory Physician San Diego, CA 92103

 

We are looking for a physician to join our medical group part time, to provide direct patient care as well as supervision of the PA/NPs on staff at our office in San Diego, CA. We are looking for an exceptional MD or DO to act as a supervising doctor, assess patient needs, and recommend non-surgical therapies for our clinics throughout the San Diego County. The physician’s duties will be to perform orthopedic focused exams, Bone Marrow Aspirates, and administer joint injections in an out-patient setting for our clinic in San Diego. Great work/life balance with no nights or holidays! The right candidate will be seeing patients and reviewing patient charts, X-Rays, MRI to determine the best possible course of action and treatment for their pain as well as providing supervisory services for the PA/NPs on staff.

 

Duties:

  • Supervisory role of the PA/NP - Availability for consultation and direction of the PA/NP
  • Be available via phone/text for remote guidance when not in the clinic (Can work remote, off site for chart reviews and most supervision
  • Perform randomized patient/chart review to assure proper treatment procedures are being followed
  • Direct patient care (history and physical exams focused on joint injuries) Review patient records as needed
  • Treatment plan formulation and recommend options for patients
  • Answer patient’s questions and concerns and educate on the benefits of treatments
  • Interpret/read x-rays and MRI
  • Perform injections/procedures- 1-2 days day per week required for in-clinic procedures, to include joint injections, BMAC, and training other medical professionals
  • Directs, coordinates, and oversees patient care
  • Provides supervision, mentoring, training, and development to clinical staff
  • Reviews, establishes, and maintains patient care protocol and standards, ensuring that all federal and state policies, regulations, and guidelines for patient care are met; establishes and coordinates quality improvement, safety, and infection control programs
  • Participates in clinical privileging, appointment and re-appointment of medical staff; ensures that staff physicians, NPs, PAs, and CMAs have adequate continuing medical and other relevant education
  • Performs clinical supervision of center staff, including regular performance appraisals and feedback
  • May serve as direct supervisor of staff NPs and PAs
  • Collaborates with clinical/medical staff in the delivery of quality patient care, maintenance of clinical documentation, integration of electronic health records, and handling of complaints and/or medical emergencies
  • Follows established policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards
  • Represents the organization at various community and/or business meetings, committees, and task forces; promotes existing and new programs and/or policies

 

Requirements:

  • BCBE in Pain Management, Family medicine, Internal Medicine, Orthopedics, Sports Medicine, or PM&R preferred
  • Prior experience/background in joint injections preferred but will provide training
  • Experience or interest in Regen Medicine
  • MD or DO License to Practice Medicine in CA

 

Schedule:

  • 1-2 days per week for in-clinic procedures

 

Compensation:

  • $1,500-$2,000 per day
