Physician -Medical Director Portland, ME

3-5 days per week
We are looking for a physician to join our medical group, to provide direct patient care as well as supervision of the PA/NPs on staff at our offices in the Portland, ME area. The physician’s duties will be to perform orthopedic focused exams and perform bone marrow procedures in an out-patient setting for our clinic in Portland. Great work/life balance with no call, nights, or holidays. The right candidate will be seeing patients, reviewing patient charts/X-Rays/MRIs to determine the best possible course of action and treatment for their pain. The position will require 3-5 days per week within our office setting.

The NP/PA’s examine patients and perform joint and trigger point injections in our physical medicine office. We provide concierge medicine; the patients are seeking high quality care not covered by insurance and we strive to make them comfortable and educated about the procedures so that they are satisfied in undergoing the treatments offered.
Duties:
- Provide and manage direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and bone marrow (will provide training if needed) procedures for a specified patient population.
- Directs, coordinates, and oversees patient care; provides supervision, mentoring, training, and development to clinical staff.
- Follows established policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
- Be available via phone/text for remote guidance when not in the clinic
- Perform randomized patient/chart review to assure proper treatment procedures are being followed
- Availability for consultation and direction of the PA/NP
- Answer patient’s questions and concerns
Requirements:
- BCBE in Pain Management, Orthopedics, Sports Medicine, Physiatry, Anesthesiology or PM&R preferred
- Prior experience/background in joint injections preferred but will provide training
- MD or DO License to Practice Medicine in ME
Schedule:
- Full time (3-5 days a week)
Compensation (total):
- Total compensation approx. $300k- $400k (base salary plus bonus and benefits)
