Primary Care/Emergency Medicine Opportunity in Qatar - Troop Medical Clinic!!
The position requires the following:
I. Education:
a. MD or DO from an accredited medical school
b. ECFMG if Medical School is non-US
c. Current Board certification by the American Board of Medical Specialties, American Medical
d. Association or the American Osteopathic Association Bureau of Osteopathic Specialists in Family
e. Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or the equivalent of a General Internist
f. Must obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support Training and Certification
g. Must provide CV with credentials
h. Must present the demeanor of a health professional
II. Experience:
a. At minimum 5 years employed as a practicing physician
b. Active/unrestricted /valid MD/DO license. Must have and be able to maintain a current state licensure in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico or the
c. US Virgin Islands and a DC License.
d. Must be capable of handling multiple tasks at once
III. Ability to pass a background check and obtain a Government Issued Security Clearance {SECRET LEVEL} (provided for you). If applicant has an active clearance, we would be able to assume their clearance under our Cage Code.
IV. Ability to pass a medical screening (within the last two years). All personnel must be medically (including dental) Fit for Duty under MOD 12 Guidelines
V. US Citizen
VI. BLS Certification (if you do not have, we can assist you in obtaining prior to departure)

I wanted to provide some more details for you as to what a sample package may look like:
1. The position is considered full-time
2. We will offer a Sign-On Bonus (THIS MAY VARY, BUT WE USUALLY GO UP) to $10,000.00 at the completion of your credentialing process provided it meets the deadlines set forth in an official offer letter to ensure no gaps in coverage
3. We offer a Base Hourly rate of around $100.00 - $125.00 USD (AGAIN, WE HAVE SOME FLEXIBILITY) per hour. Please note that the position requires a 48 hours work week (6 days / week) per Qatari Labor Law
a. The maximum amount you can exclude from the foreign earned income is $100,800 (tax-free). We always recommend that you speak with your account and/or a tax specialist to ensure that you have the most current information for how this will impact you for the city/state for in which you live.
4. Based on the completion of your contract, we also offer an End of Contract Bonus of up to $10,000.00
5. Based on the Qatari Labor Law, there is an End of Service Gratuity paid equal to up to three weeks of your annualized salary at the completion of your contract.
6. You will receive $3000 in Continuing Medical Education per contract year
7. You will be offered full benefits (health, dental and basic life and AD&D)
8. You will be provided with housing, a vehicle and a cellphone for all local calls
9. You will also receive a Travel Allowance while on contract
The position is at the Troop Medical Clinic (TMC) and provides routine healthcare to the US Military that both reside at this base as well as those that process through during pre and post assignments. The care is routinely Family Medicine or General Practice. It is very low acuity and if there is an issue that cannot be addressed at the clinics, the role would be to stabilize and transport to either the local hospital or the US Air Base up the road.
We currently provide coverage and support of 12 (including the physician) staff at the TMC to support the physician and the customer. Our current providers consist of: Medical Services Manager, Clinical Psychologist, Nurse Practitioner, Charge Nurse, Two RN’s, Medical Supply Technician, Medical Records Technician, Pharmacy Technician, Physical Therapist and Physical Therapist Assistant.
