Outpatient only Psychiatric NP- open to new grads

We invite a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join a respected rural health center (FQHC) with a 40+ year history of successful operation. This nonprofit organization has practices in six towns providing primary care, urgent care, mental health, dentistry, podiatry, physical therapy and other healthcare services to thousands of patients across a sizeable stretch of northern Maine.

You will collaborate with primary care providers and enjoy a diverse and rewarding outpatient-only practice providing therapy and medicinal care for patients – adults and families with mental health and psychosocial issues – including many who are uninsured or underinsured. You will see people as individuals, couples, and families. This full time position offers a terrific weekday schedule with no nights, weekends or holidays. Practice in a modern facility with state-of-the-art technology, electronic medical records, an on-site pharmacy, and excellent team-oriented support, so you can provide the best patient care possible.

You will earn a competitive compensation package that includes a competitive salary plus many benefits including a cash starting bonus, federal liability insurance, relocation assistance, fully paid health and dental coverage, disability and life insurance, and participation in a retirement plan too. You get a week of paid leave with a budget for your CME expenses, plus three weeks of paid vacation (four weeks in year two!), as well as 10 paid holidays! You will also be eligible for tax-free NHSC loan repayment.

Come to Maine for an exceptional lifestyle! The acclaimed four-season environment has earned Maine the nickname, “Vacationland!” This is your chance to live where other people spend their leisure time. Millinocket is a picturesque community of 5000 people adjacent to popular Baxter State Park, a 200,000 acre preserve that is home to mile-high Mt. Katahdin, Maine's tallest peak. This popular all-sports region attracts vacationers and sports enthusiasts for all kinds of activities on the many lakes and rivers and hills and peaks in the area - in every season. Enjoy snowmobiling and snowshoeing, camping and hiking, climbing, biking, boating, whitewater rafting, fishing and hunting, and more!

Homes are affordable here, with waterfront options readily available. Explore family-friendly houses in convenient in-town neighborhoods or consider properties with multiple acres where you can own horses, mountain bike in your own backyard, or just enjoy peace and privacy! With scenic lots widely available, you could build a custom home that will make you happy for many years to come. Several welcoming small towns give you plenty of choices!

Millinocket is 75 minutes from Bangor, Maine's third largest city, with over 100,000 people, an international airport, shopping malls and theatres, dozens of restaurants, a wonderful children’s museum, a symphony orchestra, a casino/hotel, summer concerts and annual music festivals on the riverfront, and much more. You will be an hour from the University of Maine at Orono, which hosts cultural and collegiate sporting events including NCAA Division I football, soccer, basketball, baseball and hockey.

We are offering:

  1. Welcoming and supportive practice located 75 minutes from Bangor
