Some Duties and Responsibilities:

 

-Responsible for the overall operation, supervision and administration of the Toxicology and Laboratory Services; oversee, manage and direct the laboratory personnel and performance of high complexity tests;

-Responsible for assuring compliance- with all applicable provisions of regulations and professional standards, laboratory safety regulations and controls, quality assurance programs, policies, procedures, guidelines and protocols;

-Responsible for delivering customer service excellence, by providing first class/top-notch Laboratory Testing Services;

-Developing, strengthening, expending and proactively promoting Laboratory Services;  Implementing strategic Marketing and Business Plan, Sales Strategy Plan- to drive revenues and growth;

-Survey markets, benchmark pricing and standards, prepare business feasibility studies for new market opportunities;

-Forecast Multi-year budgets based on business plans; Prepare estimated annual budget, monitor it´s revenues and expenditures;

-Assess market needs, review new test procedures, come up with new testing methods and techniques;

 

- Accountable for all aspects of the laboratory service - playing a key role between laboratory operations and clinical practice;

- Accountable for licensure and accreditation-needs to ensure compliance with Licensing and Accreditation standards- in order to meet regulatory, licensing and accreditation requirements;

- Accountable for Test Procedures- for all aspects of testing including the preanalytical, analytical and post- analytical phases;

  Responsible for standard operating procedures for all aspects of testing-assures standard operating procedures are valid, up-to-date and accessible to laboratory personnel;

 

-The Lab Director - plays a pivotal Role in reviewing policies, procedures and processes- their quality system;

-Review and evaluate the laboratory´s quality assessment plan, indicators and monitor;

-Review the laboratory´s proficiency testing enrollment and performance- ensuring enrollment in appropriate proficiency testing programs and reviewing results;

-Successfully implementing, maintaining and evaluating quality control standards- ensuring quality control standards are at highest level- hence met at all times;

-Ensure quality assurance program is established and maintained, establish quality management system, quality policy;

- Personnel/Training- the implementation of a training program that includes training standards, effective methods of instruction and a system of documentation; For ongoing evaluation and improvement of the training program;

 

Essential requirements:

 

- Western educated, trained and experienced Laboratory Director;

-PhD in a Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory Science or related field- from an Accredited Institution and be Certified by an approved Board; Board Certification- or equivalent;

- Minimum of 10 years of clinical experience and expertise in chemical laboratories focused on toxicology, environmental or food analyses- whereas at least 3 years of Experience serving as a Laboratory Director,

or in a Senior Management/ Leadership Role, or Supervisory Role or similar Role; 

- Experience in all class of mass spectrometry methodology;

- Expertise of mass spectrometric oriented methodology;

-Knowledge of ISO regulations and WADA regulations and methods;

- Training courses in laboratory methods and techniques, strategic management and planning, business management, performance management, financial management, time management, leadership, negotiation, communication and any other related courses;  

- Quality and Risk Management;

-Business performance and result oriented with excellent Leadership and people Management skills, critical thinking and problem solving skills;

-Superb - communication and interpersonal skills, analytical and negotiating skills, planning and organizational skills;

- Ability to multitask, to work well under pressure- to meet deadlines;

-Attention to detail, Flexibility, Quick timely response, Can-do attitude, Process/Quality focus, Achievement oriented, Patient/Customer service oriented, Employee focused, Energetic, Innovative, Respect and Ability to cope to different situations are only some of the qualities that the Lab Director- Toxicology & Laboratory Services needs to possess;

 

-Business Qualifications- would be an advantage;

- Excellent English language skills; Arabic language- advantage;
