- Crisis Stabilization Unit
Job description:
Scope of practice : Provide psychiatric services to individuals.
1. Perform mental health evaluations/psychiatric treatment for adults and children in the outpatient clinics and patients in the Crisis Stabilization Unit according to established guidelines. This includes the following: mental status examinations, formulating diagnosis based on the DSM 5TR /ICD10 criteria, prescribing pharmacological treatment based on the standards of medical practice, ordering other SBHS services, including referring for appropriate psychotherapy, ordering and interpreting routine laboratory findings, and completing emergency involuntary commitment if deemed necessary.
2. Document notes according to the accepted format of Serenity Behavior Health Systems.
3. Refer the served individuals to other community resources for general medical and specialty care and collaborate with case workers and nursing staff in referring patients for other socioeconomic needs.
4. Be available for immediate consultation in person, via telephone, by email or other electronic means during business hours or when on call to physician extenders, nursing staff, and other employees who are in direct and indirect care of the served individuals.
5. Maintain current state medical license and DEA license while employed at Serenity Behavior Health Systems.
6. Seek consultation from colleagues in difficult cases, medical legal issues, or when indicated refer to another provider with expertise in these particular cases.
7. Participate in quarterly Peer Reviews and maintain standard in reviews that are acceptable to other colleagues.
8. Response to medical codes, and conducts them according to the standards of medical care and within his/her expertise.
9. Maintain his/her training through the E-Learning (Relias) program of (Login for Information).
10. Participate in treatment team meetings; provide input, education and training for the staff.
11. Adhere to (Login for Information) Policies and Procedures and Codes of Ethics.
12. Maintain professional relationship with community physicians and promote consistent and clear communication with community physicians regarding jointly served patients, and when referring patients to admitting facilities.
13. Appear in court as deemed necessary to represent (Login for Information), and in cases of patients he/she treated in the organization to testify within the scope of his/her expertise.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
A. Maintain an active Georgia License and DEA number
B. Maintain the number of continuing medical education hours as required by the State Medical Board and (Login for Information).
C. Documentation should be provided to (Login for Information) upon request.
D. Must abide by all policies of SBHS, to include, but not limited to, confidentiality, HIPAA requirements, dress code, and professional behavior.
E. Must arrive to work as scheduled. Uses the PAYCOM data base to log attendance. Must submit leave request in a timely manner. Abides by procedures set forth by supervisor for call-ins and submits documentation for absences due to illness of more than 17 consecutive hours.
F. Attends and complies with required Annual Updates. Attend all mandatory trainings.

A. Computer literate, ability to coordinate and organize work, ability to maintain filling, prepare reports as requested and good communication skills.
A. Productivity/billable services are expected at 70%.
B. 100% completion of medication consent forms/documentation.
C. 3% or less of schedule appointments Canceled by staffed (CBT status).
D. Meets or exceeds all quality indicators set forth by supervisor.
E. Meets SBHS goals by quality work within set time frames.
