Medical Review - Psychiatrist | Kansas Behavioral Health Oversight Role | Ongoing Locum Tenens

Seeking a Psychiatrist preferred, though MDs and DOs will also be considered, for a physician oversight role supporting a community-based behavioral health model in Kansas. This is not a direct patient care position and focuses primarily on review, oversight, and documentation support.

Responsibilities include:
• Supporting the company's network enrollment with Kansas MCOs
• Allowing use of NPI as the rendering provider where required for the service structure
• Reviewing care plans and documentation for medical necessity
• Signing off on care plans as appropriate
• Providing physician oversight consistent with Kansas requirements for this model

Additional Details:
• Virtual/telehealth-based opportunity
• Approximately 5 hours per month
• No therapy responsibilities
• No medication management
• No prescribing responsibilities
• LMHPs develop care plans, establish medical necessity, and support the clinical documentation process
• Physician role is primarily review and oversight
• SimplePractice EHR
• Care plans and documentation shared electronically for review and signature
• Preferred turnaround time of 24–48 hours for reviews and signatures
• Minimal meetings

Requirements:
• Psychiatrist preferred; MD or DO considered
• Comfortable with payer enrollment requirements
• Comfortable supporting network enrollment
• Comfortable serving in a physician oversight role
• Responsive with documentation review and signatures
• Comfortable not directly managing clients
• Comfortable with the physician oversight structure required in Kansas
