Cardiac Anesthesiology Locums Job in Iowa | Full Time Ongoing | Beginning in October | Assignment #110105

Coverage Needed:  
--October 13th week 
--October 20th week 
--November 24th week 
--July 28 - August 1 
--August 11 - August 15 
--August 18 - August 22 
--September 1 - September 5 
--December 22 - January 2 

Shift Description:  
--Monday, Wednesday, Friday (6:30am – 3pm); Tuesday & Thursday (7am – 3:30pm) 
--Physician will stay later if help is needed in non-cardiac cases or the cardiac case is not finished. 

Requirements:  
--Board Certified in Cardiac Anesthesiology – preferred (will also consider Board Eligible) 
--Active Iowa license or IMLC – required (must upload copy of LOQ at time of name clear) 
--TEE Certified (must be able to read, interpret, and bill TEE procedures – NOT just the placement of the probe)- Required 
--Cardiac Fellowship – preferred (extensive experience would be acceptable if TEE certified) 
--BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications – required 
--Covid Vaccinated – required 
--Must be available on the dates needed coverage 

Assignment Details: 
--Trauma level: II 
--Practice setting: hospital based. On rare occasions may need to oversee CRNAs at the ASC if no cardiac cases are scheduled and a physician is needed at the ASC location 
--EMR: Cerner (moving to EPIC, some paper) 
--Average number of surgical cases per day: cardiac surgeries – 1/day, but not every day; 5-7 general cases/day. Must help cover general if no cardiac cases 
--Number of Anesthesiologists in practice: 6 
--Patient age demographics: Adolescent, Child, Adult, Geriatric  
--Number of operating rooms: 8 in use at one time 
--Cannot accept visa candidates 
--Estimated credentialing: 8-12 weeks 
--Predominantly solo cases, but there are CRNA students rotating through (physician needs to be okay with students in the operating room with them)
