Anesthesiology Medical Director Job in Macon, Georgia

Key Responsibilities
Clinical & Operational Oversight:
- Provide overall clinical oversight of anesthesia services.
- Supervise anesthesia staff and APPs (CRNAs/AAs).
- Develop and enforce treatment protocols, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure quality standards and regulatory compliance (DNV, ASA, GA Dept. of Public Health, federal).
- Direct clinical oversight of Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).
- Review and address all anesthesia-related adverse events.
Education & Training:
- Oversee staff training, competencies, and continuing education.
- Serve as an educational resource for hospital staff.
Administrative Duties:
- Collaborate with administration on staffing schedules, budgeting, and strategic planning.
- Participate in hiring, supervision, and evaluation of anesthesia staff.
- Make recommendations on staff employment terms and privileges.
- Design and oversee financial and resource management for anesthesia services.
- Maintain current knowledge in anesthesiology and represent hospital in professional associations.
Surgical Program Involvement:
- Oversee surgical program evaluation and planning.
- Coordinate anesthesiology coverage for 24/7/365 surgical services.
- Manage operating room schedule board.
- Ensure debrief participation before procedure closure.
Communication & Leadership:
- Serve as consultant to other hospital departments.
- Collaborate with administration, staff, and medical teams on quality, efficiency, and policy development.
- Communicate changes in protocols to medical staff.
- Provide regular performance feedback to leadership.
