Anesthesiologist Locums Job in Vermont | Beginning 7/14/2025 | Assignment #109598
Coverage needed: 07/14/2025 - 12/31/2025
Coverage Needed:
- Looking for one Anesthesiologist preferably interested in long-term assignment
- Regular day: 7:00 am – 3:00 pm
- Call day: 24 hours (first 10 hours in-house, then home call based on cases booked; 20-minute turnaround required to hospital)
- Weekend home call: 47 hours (8:00 am Saturday – 7:00 am Monday)
- Preference for providers to do a mix of 7:00 am–3:00 pm shifts and 24-hour call, but either is helpful.
Requirements:
- Board Certified/Board Eligible
- BLS, ACLS, PALS
Assignment Details:
- Call Specifics:
- There is no night call, it is one physician on for 24-hour call and others are there from 7-3
- Call room available in-house if required.
- No set rotation; call schedule is created based on individual requests and expected call distribution.
- Thursday call is reserved for the physician who will be on vacation the following week.
- Weekend call consists of 47 hours of home call, from 8:00 am Saturday to 7:00 am Monday.
- Post-call day is provided on Monday.
- Call schedule is roughly 1 in 5, with flexible scheduling to accommodate prior appointments.
- Call-back frequency is variable; non-urgent cases are generally not done at night unless no OR space is available the next day.
- OB (Obstetrics) is the most frequent reason for call-back; call-back rate is approximately 70%.
- When on call, medical direction of 2-3 rooms. When not on call, usually solo cases. Pre-call person usually in endo/OB/bronch
- Anticipated procedures/surgeries per week: Typically, 4–5 per day; cataracts are usually 10 per day.
- Procedures required: Regional anesthesia for orthopedic procedures, spinal/epidural for OB, central lines, arterial lines, airway procedures as needed.
- Mid-level providers present and provider is responsible for them.
- Additional support staff: Anesthesia tech on weekdays.
- Surgical staff is knowledgeable and available for after-hours care.
- Anticipated procedures/surgeries per week: Typically, 4–5 per day; cataracts are usually 10 per day.
- EMR: EPIC
