A hospital is seeking an interventional cardiologist for locum tenens coverage.

The facility is located in southern Kentucky.

This is a Level IV trauma facility using EPIC EMR. The assignment involves inpatient care and clinic consultations as needed, with an average census of 7090 patients. Cath lab volume averages 35 cases per day, inpatient load averages 5 per day, and clinic responsibilities are occasional. STEMI call is 24-hour coverage. Required experience includes ischemic heart disease interventions (PCI, stent placement, thrombectomy), valve disease (valvuloplasty, percutaneous repair/replacement), congenital heart abnormalities, balloon angioplasty, and use of cutting/laser devices for plaque removal. The locum will be the sole provider with APC support from 810 AM and after 3 PM, with additional backup available if urgent. Intensivists and anesthesia support are on-site 24/7.
