A hospital is seeking an interventional cardiologist for locum tenens coverage.

The facility is located in southern Kentucky.

This is a Level IV trauma facility using EPIC EMR. The assignment involves inpatient care and clinic consultations as needed, with an average census of 70-90 patients. Cath lab volume averages 3-5 cases per day, inpatient load averages 5 per day, and clinic responsibilities are occasional. STEMI call is 24-hour coverage. Required experience includes ischemic heart disease interventions (PCI, stent placement, thrombectomy), valve disease (valvuloplasty, percutaneous repair/replacement), congenital heart abnormalities, balloon angioplasty, and use of cutting/laser devices for plaque removal. The locum will be the sole provider with APC support from 8-10 AM and after 3 PM, with additional backup available if urgent. Intensivists and anesthesia support are on-site 24/7.
