Saint Peter's Children's Hospital is a constantly growing hospital in central New Jersey. 

The dedicated Pediatric Emergency Department caters to children, averaging about 24,000 visits a year. The Hopsital has 44 bed pediatric floor, 14 bed Pediatric ICU and a 44 bed NICU the largest and busiest in the State of NJ with 5800.

 

Saint Peters Family Health Center has outpatient general pediatrics and sees about 27,000 children per year. 

 

Our Children’s Hospital is well supported community pediatricians and emergency rooms in thirteen counties. To meet the demands by our community we are in a expansion mode. 

 

Presently we are looking to hire three pediatric cardiologist one being director of the pediatric cardiologist. Salary ranges from $260000 to $500000 plus wRVUs based bonus. We may entertain J1 visa holders.

 

Looking for a director with robust record of professional leadership roles in an academic institution. BC in Pediatrics and in Pediatric Cardiology required. Must have or be able to obtain an unrestricted medical license in the state of NJ.

 

Responsibilities

1. WIll provide vision, leadership, and innovation to the Division of Pediatric Cardiology and is responsible for the division’s overall clinical, academic, and administrative activities. The new Chief will apply a robust and proven commitment to excellence in delivery of medical, care, education and advocacy. With responsibility for all clinical, educational, and operational functioning within the division. The Chief will oversee or have direct involvement with budgeting, staff management, patient services, and other functions relevant to effective division management.

 

2. Strategic Planning and Leadership

 

3. Provides clinical supervision of medical services and assures appropriateness, quality, and safety of patient care within the division.

 

4. Maintains program accreditations, ensuring that the service meets or exceeds local and national standards of outcome performance

Develops and fulfills goals for clinical services with all hospital partners.

 

5. Assures appropriate supervision and

ensures that divisional faculty and staff provide care that reflects best practice standards and current advances within the discipline.

 

6. Assigns clinical coverage to ensure timely access for patients and their consulting physicians in the inpatient and ambulatory setting, keeping with hospital expectations. This will include participation in outpatient clinics, call coverage, inpatient rotations, inpatient rounds, and Grand Rounds.

 

7. Ensures and Optimizes clinical productivity standards concerning national benchmarks and clinical FTE status.

 

8. Participates in quality assurance efforts, patient safety initiatives, and other hospital-based programs as requested.

 

9. Ensures that divisional faculty communicate with patients, families, referring clinicians, colleagues, and staff in a courteous, professional manner; maintains institutional service excellence standards

Provides clinical supervision of medical services and assures appropriateness, quality, and safety of patient care within the division.

 

10. Ensures that hospital resources are optimally utilized through participating in strategic planning and financial budgeting processes, and development of practices that achieve specific objectives and resolution of unfavorable performance variances; providing leadership and implementing strategies to provide cost-effective quality care.

 

11. Develops three-year growth and recruitment strategy with the following goals:

Recruitment of 2 additional clinical cardiology faculty at all levels.

 

 

12.The ideal candidate should be comfortable managing both inpatient and outpatient general pediatric cardiology cases, as well as performing 

non-invasive testing, including EKG, Holter/Event monitoring, exercise stress testing, and echocardiography.

 

 

13. Director will equally share inpatient consultative service as well as outpatient clinic and on-call responsibilities with other members of the Division.

 

14. The incoming cardiologist must also participate in the fetal echocardiography center. 

 

15. Our team currently serves our vast region’s needs in General Pediatric Cardiology, Fetal Cardiology, and Adult Congenital Cardiology. Advanced training in these areas is appreciated but not required.
