The facility seeks a cardiology physician associate for locum tenens coverage to provide comprehensive inpatient cardiac care services. The institution maintains modern equipment and established protocols necessary for effective cardiovascular disease management and patient care delivery.

Asheville features prominent attractions including the Biltmore Estate, Blue Ridge Parkway, and North Carolina Arboretum, offering visitors access to historic sites and natural landscapes. The area provides outdoor activities such as whitewater rafting on the French Broad River, ziplining adventures, and canopy tours. Downtown attractions include the River Arts District with galleries, Pack Square Park, Grove Arcade, and specialized venues like the Pinball Museum, creating opportunities for both cultural exploration and recreational activities.

The physician associate will provide comprehensive inpatient cardiovascular care during day shift from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, delivering non-ICU general cardiology floor coverage. Daily responsibilities include rounding on all floor-level cardiology patients, completing progress notes, event notes, admission H&Ps, consults, and discharges, while ordering medications, tests, and procedures as appropriate. The clinician will perform new consults alongside the attending physician, managing patients primarily on step-down and cardiology units with support from Hospitalist Medicine, Cardiology, Pulmonary Critical Care, and Cardiovascular Surgery services.
