A facility is seeking an emergency medicine physician for locum tenens coverage.
The facility is located north of Houston, Texas.
Accepted board certifications include EM, FM, IM, or Surgery, but non-EM board-certified physicians must have active ACLS, PALS, ATLS, and BLS. The ED staffing model includes 24-hour MD coverage and 24-hour NP/PA coverage (Tues-Sun), with three APP shifts on Mondays. Physician shifts are 7a7p and 7p7a; NP/PA shifts are 9a9p and 1p1a (Tues-Sun) and 9a9p, 1p1a, and 12p10p on Mondays. No call is required. The ED sees 28,900 annual visits and averages 78 patients per day with 12 ED/fast track beds. Medhost is the EMR system. An active state license is required, and the privileging timeframe is 60 days (no expedited privileges). The rate is $400/hr, and the facility prefers an all-in rate but will cover travel if needed. Completion of residency and current ACLS & PALS are required. No alternative boards (e.g., ABPS) will be accepted.
