Santa Clara Valley Healthcare (SCVH), a large public teaching healthcare system, affiliated with Stanford University School of Medicine, in San Jose CA, is seeking full-time BC family medicine physicians in our Department of Family Medicine in a variety of clinical locations, including the transgender/gender health center and urgent care clinics. Opportunities for additional moonlighting for last year residents also exist within our healthcare system.
SCVMC hosts four residency programs and one fellowship training program, and partners with Stanford University SOM and Stanford Healthcare for the clinical training of medical students, residents, and fellows. SCVMC is an ACS-verified Level 1 Trauma Center, a Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center, an ABA-verified Burn Center, a Primary Stroke Center, a Level 4 NICU, and a nationally recognized CARF-accredited Rehabilitation Center. Owing to its geographic location and specialty offerings, SCVMC not only serves the County, but also the larger region.
Providers in our health system also have the opportunity to use our integrated electronic health record (Epic), which brings together systemwide patient information. The Health Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) recognized SCVMC for achieving its highest level of success (Stage 7), based on our continuous innovation and optimization of our inpatient and outpatient EHR.
About the Division of Primary Care
Our Primary Care Division at SCVMC provides full-spectrum outpatient care for all patients at a variety of sites across Santa Clara County. The newly constructed Vietnamese American Service Center will focus on service the Vietnamese community in the South Bay. The center will provide health and human services, taking culture and language into account. Physicians who join our Primary Care Division are pleased to find a very collegial work environment, with robust specialty and ancillary support and an integrated electronic health record (Epic).
About the Positions
We are seeking FM physicians in our primary care clinics, urgent care clinic and gender health center. Full scope of practice is preferred, including pediatrics and ambulatory ob/gyn scope of practice is desirable, but not required. For one position we specifically seek a provider who is comfortable serving a largely Vietnamese patient population, knowledge of culture and fluency in language is desirable.
About compensation and benefits
