Job Description
- Deliver and lead culturally responsive, community-centered primary care for Native American and other underserved populations, integrating preventive, chronic, urgent, and behavioral health services within an interdisciplinary model of care.
- Provide clinical and operational leadership grounded in cultural humility, supervising and mentoring physicians and advanced practice providers while strengthening team-based care, provider development, and clinic efficiency.
- Advance community health outcomes, quality, and compliance by partnering with internal teams and external community stakeholders, supporting data-driven quality improvement, accreditation readiness, and sustainable care delivery.

Position Summary
The Lead Clinic Physician provides high-quality, culturally responsive primary care while serving as a clinical and operational leader within a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, this role delivers comprehensive preventive, chronic, urgent, and primary care services to (Login for Information) members while supporting clinic quality, provider development, and integrated care delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive primary care services, including examinations, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions, and referrals.
Ensure timely and accurate documentation in the electronic health record system.
Engage members in shared decision-making and provide education regarding their care.
Coordinate care with internal teams and external providers to ensure continuity and quality outcomes.
Participate in interdisciplinary care planning, panel management, and case conferences.
Implement and support quality improvement initiatives to improve access, efficiency, and patient outcomes.
Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to advanced practice providers and clinical staff.
Support staff development, performance management, and team collaboration.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA, safety regulations, and accreditation standards.
Participate in peer review, audit readiness, and organizational initiatives as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Licensed M.D. or D.O. in the state of California.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or another primary care specialty.
- Current DEA license and CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days).
- At least three years of experience in a community clinic setting.
- Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
- Experience working with electronic health record systems.
- Commitment to serving Native American and other underserved populations.
Preferred Qualifications
Leadership experience, bilingual Spanish skills, experience with EPIC EHR, and a strong sense of teamwork and humor.
