Job Description
Position Summary
The Family Medicine Physician provides comprehensive, continuous, and patient-centered primary care across all age groups. This role focuses on preventive health, chronic disease management, and acute care, using a holistic approach to improve patient outcomes.
This is a hybrid position involving both hospital-based and outpatient clinical responsibilities. The physician is expected to see approximately 14–24 patients per day while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, coordinated care. Candidates must also demonstrate a commitment to teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, or clinical staff as part of an academic or collaborative care environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including physical examinations and detailed medical histories
- Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests, including laboratory work and imaging studies
- Diagnose medical conditions and develop individualized treatment plans
- Provide patient education on preventive care, including screenings, immunizations, and lifestyle modifications
- Refer patients to appropriate specialists when necessary
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant patient medical records
- Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and institutional policies
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Maintain knowledge of and comply with regulations related to infection control, patient safety, privacy, pain management, and opioid prescribing
Qualifications
Education & Certifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution
- Board Certification in Family Medicine (required)
- Active and unrestricted state medical license (required)
- Valid DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances
- Successful completion of the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE)
- Compliance with continuing medical education (CME) requirements
Experience
- Prior clinical experience in family medicine, primary care, or a related setting preferred
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Standard outpatient clinical environment with occasional extended hours
- Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking
- Manual dexterity required for clinical procedures
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs
- Exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious diseases (OSHA Category I)
