An Addiction Medicine Clinic is seeking a family medicine physician associate for locum tenens coverage.
About the Facility LocationThe facility is located 30 minutes from New Haven, CT.
About the Clinician's WorkdayCredentialing timeframe is around two weeks and requires a physical, background check, and drug screen. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The role includes 24/7 phone call coverage, primarily to address medication orders, new admission approvals, or withdrawal complications. Providers typically see 5 to 10 patients per day, all adults aged 18 and older. Required certifications include a DEA, Connecticut license, and BLS and/or ACLS certification. Support staff includes LPNs, nursing staff, and social workers. The ideal candidate will see patients for intakes during active withdrawal, have previous substance recovery experience, be skilled in managing acute withdrawal syndromes such as alcohol, opioid, and benzodiazepine, and demonstrate compassionate, patient-centered care with an emphasis on dignity and safety.
