Job Description
The Medical Director provides clinical leadership and strategic oversight to ensure the delivery of high-quality, safe, and compliant patient care. This role is responsible for guiding medical staff, developing clinical policies, ensuring regulatory compliance, and aligning clinical operations with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership

Provide medical leadership and oversight for all clinical services

Ensure adherence to evidence-based medical practices and standards of care

Serve as a clinical resource and advisor to physicians and healthcare staff
Quality & Patient Safety

Lead quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs

Monitor clinical outcomes, performance metrics, and patient satisfaction
-
Address clinical risk management issues and oversee peer review processes
Regulatory & Compliance

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local healthcare regulations

Oversee accreditation and regulatory inspections (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS)

Develop, implement, and review clinical policies and procedures
Operational & Strategic Management

Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic planning and service line development

Support efficient clinical operations, including staffing models and workflow optimization

Participate in budgeting, resource allocation, and cost management initiatives
Medical Staff Management

Recruit, onboard, mentor, and evaluate physicians and advanced practice providers

Promote a collaborative, professional, and ethical medical staff culture

Address performance issues and support professional development
Communication & Collaboration

Serve as a liaison between medical staff, administration, and external stakeholders

Communicate clinical priorities and organizational goals effectively

Represent the organization in professional, regulatory, and community settings
Qualifications
Education & Licensure
-
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)

Current, unrestricted medical license

Board certification in a relevant specialty
Experience
