Family Medicine Academic job located in Georgia

This South Georgia medical center and Family Medicine Residency Program is currently seeking a full-time, core faculty member to provide direct care to clinic patients, educate residents through precepting and formal teaching, perform advising and curricular duties, participate in program committees, and perform other duties to maintain the program’s mission of providing the highest standard of medical care to a diverse population in a rural community and training dedicated physicians who promote and support the ideals of family medicine.

An ideal candidate will be an experienced physician or new grad who can start in 2025 and is interested in working in an academic setting.

• Salary: Guaranteed salary is competitive and commensurate with experience; negotiable depending on GME experience or special training such as a fellowship.

• Schedule: Monday through Friday; 8am – 5pm

• Call: Some call required (mainly home call after hours to cover residents); optional OB call

• Duties: to provide direct care to clinic patients and to educate residents through precepting; not required to have faculty experience; must be willing to perform full spectrum family medicine care and be willing to know OB (must have an understanding; do not have to perform); additional faculty duties such as formal teaching, performance evaluations, and advising will gradually be added over the first year of employment. • Clinic Facility: Georgia South Family Medicine Clinic is located on the hospital’s campus inside the new state-of-the-art, 14,000 sq. ft. Ameris Medical Education Center. The clinic consists of 22 exam rooms, 2 procedure rooms, 2 precepting rooms, and a lab.

• Patient Volume: an average of 20-24 patients per day (10-12 per half day)

• Hospital Facilities: physicians’ lounge with meals provided; 24-hour all-access employee fitness center

Requirements:

a. Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.)

b. Board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) or the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians (AOBFM)

c. Valid Georgia Medical License or participation in Interstate Medical Licensure Compact

d. Current D.E.A. Certificate

e. Must be in good standing with current employer or residency/fellowship program

f. Must be willing to know OB but are not required to perform it.

g. Must be willing to perform the full family medicine spectrum.

Preferred Qualifications:

a. FQHC/CHC experience

b. Bilingual in Spanish/English

• Open to family medicine trained candidates with additional training/fellowships.

• Candidates are not required to have faculty experience; they will be trained on the job.
