Job Description

  • Seeking physician for on-site primary care clinic at rural critical access hospital
  • Varied patient base (Inpatient, Outpatient, Senior and Assisted Living facility)
  • Rotating schedule

Our critical access hospital is seeking a Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physician for our on-site primary care clinic. A nonprofit hospital, we care deeply about our community and “Helping people live life well” is our mission. The physician will enjoy a varied patient base, from newborns to elderly, involving outpatient (clinic), inpatient (hospital), and our Senior and Assisted Living facility. We have an experienced team of health care professionals to provide support and who put the needs of the patient first and are committed to health and wellness of our community. Our model of M-F primary care clinic with a 24/7 walk-in clinic, acute and swing beds, attached long term care facility and on-site MRI services allows flexibility and variety of patient care not known to many critical access hospitals.

Details:

  • Schedule is three-day work week followed by four-day work week
  • Physicians rotate call 7 days at a time to support APRNs covering ED, walk-in clinic, and swing bed patients
  • Provide weekly care for and admit swing bed patients
  • Provide care for 8-9 patients within our attached long term care facility
  • Some ED phone support

Located within a rural setting in northeast Jefferson County, we are one hour from Kansas City, 45 minutes from the state capitol, and 30 minutes from Lawrence.  The hospital is independent, owned by the hospital corporation and run by a nine-member Board of Directors. In the early 1950’s, the community of Jefferson County identified a need to provide quality health care to the people of our community and built and funded our facility without any external backing.
