Job Description

Job Title: Family Medicine Physician (MD or DO)

Location: Bronx, NY
Type: Full-time/Part-time

Job Summary:
We are seeking Board Certified or Board Eligible Primary Care Providers (MD or DO) for the Bronx, NY region. As part of an expanding primary care team, the physician will be responsible for providing high-quality treatment and diagnostic services to patients across various settings, including office, urgent care, house calls, and nursing home divisions.

The Primary Care Physician will be responsible for diagnosing and assessing patients, prescribing appropriate medication and treatments, and offering lifestyle adjustments to support recovery and prevent future health issues. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering comprehensive care in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide primary medical care services in nursing home settings, working with the healthcare team to ensure quality patient care.
  • Order and review laboratory and radiology tests, and refer patients to specialists as needed.
  • Analyze medical records, test results, and physical examinations to diagnose conditions and recommend appropriate treatment options.
  • Prescribe pharmaceuticals, medications, and treatment regimens to address medical conditions.
  • Discuss potential side effects of treatments and ensure all allergy information is current before prescribing medications.
  • Advise patients on lifestyle and dietary changes that may enhance their health or aid in treating health issues.
  • Adhere to departmental policies, procedures, quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
  • Ensure patient confidentiality and comply with federal and state health information privacy laws.
  • Record complete, accurate, and legible medical records in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Geriatrics, Internal Medicine, Palliative Care/Hospice, or Family Medicine.
  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic (DO) degree from an accredited U.S. medical school.
  • Successful completion of residency at an accredited healthcare institution or a U.S. residency program, or a 5-year pathway.
  • Active New York State Medical License.
  • Current DEA and DPS registration for prescribing medications (can be obtained during the credentialing process).
  • Experience providing primary care and diagnostic services in a clinical setting.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure effective patient care.
