This 150-bed hospital provides comprehensive gastroenterology services with established protocols for both inpatient consultation and emergency care. The facility maintains modern gastroenterology equipment including dedicated endoscopy suites and supportive clinical infrastructure for advanced procedures. The hospital operates as a non-trauma facility with established systems for efficient patient care delivery.

North Alabama features diverse outdoor attractions including Cathedral Caverns State Park, multiple state parks such as Monte Sano and DeSoto, and various waterfalls that provide opportunities for hiking, fishing, and hunting activities. The gastroenterologist will provide comprehensive 24-hour inpatient call coverage managing endoscopy procedures Monday through Friday from 7AM to 1/2PM, completing 10-14 colonoscopies daily with efficient support staff. The clinician will handle after-hours and weekend call responsibilities covering the emergency department, managing emergent procedures, new consultations, and completing rounding as needed. The position requires managing 13-17 patients daily including endoscopy cases, rounding, new admissions, and consultations with an average of 3-4 hours of rounding per day. The clinician must be comfortable performing EGD, colonoscopy, and motility procedures while coordinating care with two gastroenterologists on site during call coverage periods.
