Gastroenterology Locums Job in Arizona | Full-Time Ongoing Coverage Beginning in October | Assignment #110992

Coverage Needed: Two weeks per month starting as early as October and ongoing

Shift Description:
-- Mix of inpatient consults, outpatient procedures, and clinic: Monday through Friday, 7am-5pm 
-- Weekday night call from 5pm-7am, Consists mostly of phone calls with occasional call-ins around 2-3 times a month
-- 24-hour call weekends, 7am on Saturday to 7am on Monday

Requirements:
-- Board certified
-- Must be licensed in Arizona or IMLC
-- BLS, ACLS, and DEA certified
-- Required procedures: EGD, Colonoscopy
-- ERCP and EUS preferred

Assignment Details:
-- Client is looking for coverage at 2 separate hospitals, not at the same time (30 minutes apart)
-- Mix of inpatient consults, procedures, and clinic 7a-5p on weekdays, plus night call. 24 hour weekend call on Saturdays and Sundays
-- Depending on the facility being covered, work with fellows and/or APP's on inpatient consults, perform procedures
-- Outpatient work includes performing elective procedures on patients at the hospital that have been seen in the clinic by one of the APP's
-- Usually 10-12 new consults per day
-- Nights: usually phone calls - rarely have to go in to see a consult - might have to go in (usually 2-3 times/month) for food bolus and severe GI bleeding. 
-- All cases in the endoscopy unit are with anesthesia - Intensivist helps with sedation for a travel case. 
-- Support team: PAs at facility #1, Fellows at facility #2
-- Both facilities are Level 1 trauma centers: #1 is 400+ beds, facility #2 is 500+ beds
-- EMR: Cerner
-- 60-90 days of credentialing
