(Login for Information) employs nearly 300 physicians and advanced practice providers. Blessing is the largest medical provider serving a 300,000+ population region composed of West Central Illinois, Northeast Missouri, and Southeast Iowa. The System operates Blessing Hospital, a 347-bed regional referral center in Quincy, Illinois, (population 45,000) and Illini Community Hospital, a 25-bed critical access facility in Pittsfield, Illinois, (population 4,200). The group seeks to expand its Gastroenterology Department by adding additional physicians at its modern, main clinic building in Quincy. There are opportunities for either GI Hospitalist; inpatient only (7 days on / 7 days off; 162 shfts per year or Outpatient GI. Sub-specialty support is available in virtually every field, and Blessing Hospital and the ASC are connected by sky-bridge to the physician office building Blessing offers a full array of diagnostic and treatment capabilities. Lab, X-ray, 3T MRI, and extremity CT are present in the outpatient clinic building’s diagnostic center. A Hospitalist program is available to handle inpatient admissions. Board Certification is an expectation of all of our physicians; board eligible and tracking to board certification if new from training.
Community: Blessing Hospital, headquartered in Quincy, Illinois, is located on high limestone bluffs overlooking the Mississippi River near the westernmost point of Illinois. An $89 million school bond issue was passed in 2014. Five new state-of-the-art elementary schools have been built to replace aging and outdated buildings. An addition was built at Quincy Senior High to make room for 9th graders. This moved the district to a configuration of five K-5 elementary schools, grades 6-8 at the current junior high, and grades 9-12 at QHS. Technology updates have been be made at all schools. Students will be provided an updated and engaging learning environment to prepare them for success in an increasingly technology driven world. There is a strong catholic-based parochial school system comprised of four elementary schools and a high school and Quincy Montessori School is also available.
Quincy is located two hours from St. Louis, three and a half hours from Kansas City, and four hours from Chicago. Daily flights connect Quincy’s Baldwin Field with Chicago O’Hare International Airport, Lambert International in St. Louis and Amtrak provides two round trips daily to Chicago.
