High Paying - High Volume Gastroenterologist Locums Job in Southern Illinois

Jackson and Coker is partnered with a facility in southern Illinois that needs GI locums support starting late summer 2026. The facility has a mixed need consisting of inpatient procedure days (high volume, anticipating between 14-17 scopes per day each shift), 24-hour call coverage, and shifts that consist of both: scopes (lesser volume when covering call in tandem) and call coverage. 

Opportunity #114358 Call-Only Coverage: 
* Looking for week-long blocks (Mon–Mon if possible) of 24-hour call starting in late July and ongoing.
* Coverage includes two facilities at once.

Inpatient Scheduled Procedure Days
* ~20 scheduled patients per day, with ~20–25% expected cancellations.
* Day typically runs 7:30–8:00 AM to ~4:30 PM or earlier.

Scopes + Inpatient Call (Combined)
* Half-day of scopes (7–10 cases), usually done by noon.
* Afternoon dedicated to rounding and inpatient work at two facilities.

Privileging Requirements: 
* Board Certification or true Eligibility required
* Active Illinois license + CSR preferred, but willing to license
* Must provide a minimum of 100 dated case logs representative of the scope & complexity of the privileges requested from the last year.
* Core privileges include: Proctoscopy and/or flexible sigmoidoscopy, Colonoscopy with and without biopsy or polypectomy including colonic dilatation, Complete enteroscopy including single balloon enteroscopy (DBE) with or without biopsy, Upper gastrointestinal endoscopy with or without biopsy including hemostasis, upper gastrointestinal endoscopy device placement including stent or Bravo, use of energy sources (excluding lasers) during an endoscopic procedures, PEG, GI Motility studies, Capsule endos, hemorrhoid banding)

What to Expect:
* When doing scopes: Will be working a 'flip room,' setting. Will be on call after scheduled procedures in the morning.
* Will have full anesthesia support + pre / post op patient coordination support
* ERCP are preferred but are not a firm requirement 
* Will need to be credentialed at three different facilities (within same health system)  
* Information on facilities: 150+ bed facility, Epic EMR, 1 facility is a level 2 trauma designation
