Gastroenterology Physician Locums Job in Michigan | Scheduled Clinical Hours + Call | Beginning March 25, 2026 – Ongoing | Assignment #113328

Coverage Details
-- March 25 – Orientation
-- March 26 – March 30, 7 AM – 7 AM
-- April 16 – April 20, 7 AM – 7 AM
-- June 12 – June 15, 7 AM – 7 AM
-- December 11 – December 14, 7 AM – 7 AM
-- Credentialing timeframe: 60 days

Shift Description
-- Monday–Friday, 9-hour shift with 1-hour lunch
-- Will accept multiple providers
-- Overnight call: 15-hour call shift
-- Weekend call: 24 hours
-- Seeking full block coverage only

Call Details
-- Call Type: Beeper
-- Call Response Time Required: 20 minutes
-- Phone Consults: 2–4
-- Patients Seen: up to 12 per day

Requirements
-- Board Certified in Gastroenterology
-- Licensed in Michigan only
-- ABLS
-- ACLS
-- ATLS
-- BLS
-- Fellowship – Highly Preferred

Required Procedures / Skills
-- Upper GI endoscopy with:
  -- Foreign body removal
  -- Fulguration of bleeder
  -- Injection of varices
  -- ERCP (Diagnostic + Therapeutic procedures)
  -- PEG placement (percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy)
-- Esophageal dilatation/manometry
-- Esophageal manometry interpretation
-- Small bowel biopsy
-- Lower GI endoscopy
-- Sigmoidoscopy: Flexible + Rigid
-- Colonoscopy: biopsy + excision of polyp
-- Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)

Assignment Details
-- ERCP/EUS: Preferred
-- Resident/teaching supervision required
-- Average 12 procedures per day
-- 4 procedure rooms / Endo suites
-- Olympus equipment
-- Propofol use
-- Responsible for all charting and pathology follow-up
-- Well-established, highly accomplished endoscopy team
-- Facility Trauma Level: 2
-- EMR: Athena, Cerner, gGastro
