Gastroenterologist Locums Job | Bread & Butter Gastroenterology | ALL Inpatient Coverage

Jackson and Coker's partner in northern Mississippi needs 1-2 GIs to assist with locums inpatient scopes / call coverage starting in July & ongoing. This facility is known for unapparelled teamwork, a fantastic atmosphere and a strong commitment to high-quality medical care. Detailed below are the specific dates that the facility is seeking coverage; ideal candidate(s) would be open to consistent ongoing coverage, have some flexibility to their schedule and share a commitment to continuity of patient care & creating a strong culture. Open Dates:
- 7am 7/14 – 5pm 7/16
- 7am 7/27 - 5pm 8/6
- 3pm 8/10 - 7am 8/18
- 7am 9/8 - 5pm 9/17
- 7am 11/3 - 5pm 11/5
- 7am 11/24 – 5pm 12/3 (endo closed on 11/27 & 28)
- 7am 12/15 – 7am 12/17
- 7am 12/24 - 7am 12/29 (endo closed on 12/24, 25, 1/1) 
- Ongoing into 2026

Coverage needed: 
* GI Hospitalist model Monday-Friday, 24 hr call Saturdays and sundays
* Hoping to privilege physicians with a minimum of 5-7 days/month of availability starting in 2025

Coverage Details for Assignment #109745:
-- Current Board Certification and/or true Eligibility required 
-- Active Mississippi medical license required (open to considering candidates who can obtain quick licensure via the IMLC)
-- 24-hour call coverage with 8 hrs in-house Monday-Friday, 24 hr call Saturday/Sundays (no mention of clinic needs at this point) 
-- Will see 4-6 scopes per weekday, will be covering the ED, see new consults, do emergent procedures & daily patient rounding while on assignment
-- Average 4-6 scopes per day, consults are between 3-5 per day & will see 3-5 emergent cases per week
-- Additional information about mid-level support is pending 
-- Hospital details: 200+ bed facility, Level III Trauma designation, Epic EMR
