Program Highlights:
The Gastroenterology program is part of the (Login for Information)(RPCI Oncology, PC) and affiliated with Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, Buffalo NY. We are seeking a board certified gastroenterologist with advanced endoscopy training to join our expanding GI program and contribute to the clinical care of patients with GI malignancies as well as GI complications from other malignancies.
RPCI Oncology, PC employs the Gastroenterologist/Advanced Endoscopist associated with this program but academic appointment at the Cancer is available for a qualified and interested candidate. Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Our subspecialty Gastroenterology — backed by the expertise of the region’s only National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center — offers critical gastro and endoscopy services across the state.
Our Gastroenterology Services at (Login for Information)is a growing specialty offering. We proudly diagnose and treatdiseases of the digestive system, including the esophagus, stomach, intestines, liver, and pancreas.
Role Summary:
We are seeking a candidate with clinical expertise and board certification in gastroenterology. Applicants from gastroenterology with expertise in endoscopy training background encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, interest in business/practice management and dedication to patient care. Will be expected to carry out her/his duties by adhering to the highest standards of ethical and moral conduct, act in the best interest of RPCI Oncology PC, and fully support the mission, vision, and values of the organization. The affiliation with Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and robust case volume also provide excellent opportunities to practice research and publish.
- Patient Consultations: Conduct thorough evaluations of patients, discussing symptoms and medical histories to understand their gastrointestinal issues.
- Diagnostic Procedures: Perform various diagnostic tests, including endoscopies and colonoscopies, to identify conditions such as peptic ulcers, colorectal cancer, and inflammatory bowel disease.
- Treatment Plans: Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans, which may include prescribing medications, recommending lifestyle changes, and performing therapeutic procedures.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other healthcare professionals, in community and across networkto provide holistic patient care.
- Preventive Care: Offer preventive services, including screenings for colorectal cancer and advice on maintaining digestive health.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree.
- Completion of an internal medicine residency and a gastroenterology fellowship is required.
- Must be licensed to practice medicine and board-certified in gastroenterology in New York State.
- Endoscopic ultrasound and ERCP skills are required.
- The ability to develop collaborative clinical/translational research programs with surgical oncologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists and other scientists at the institution is welcomed.
- Strong communication skills, compassion, and the ability to work collaboratively in a healthcare team are essential.
