Job Description
(Login for Information) at (Login for Information), a leading academic health center situated at the Texas Medical Center, invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE) position as Division Director of (Login for Information) in the (Login for Information). We are looking for an academician with exemplary leadership, administrative, and mentoring skills who will lead and continue enhancing the clinical, research and educational activities of the Division.
The Division currently has almost 30 multidisciplinary faculty members, which is comprised of a mix of general gastroenterologists, advanced endoscopists and transplant hepatologists. It maintains a broad, robust, productive and integrated academic practice, as well as outstanding clinical research. The Division oversees a highly competitive fellowship program with 13 GI fellows and two advanced endoscopy fellows.
The University of Texas McGovern Medical School (UTMMS) and Division is located within the Texas Medical Center (TMC) and affiliated with the Memorial Hermann Hospital (MHH) Health System. The faculty's outpatient practice is at our 22,000 sq. ft. Ertan Digestive Disease Center of Excellence with 14 clinic rooms, 5 state-of-the -art endoscopy rooms, and GI motility and GI physiology laboratory. The academic inpatient activities are performed at the connected MHH-TMC campus. Additionally, the Division has a strong clinical presence at the various Memorial Hermann Hospitals and UT Physicians clinics and enjoys the academic practice with multiple UTMMS physicians located throughout the city. The Division Chief will also play a crucial role in the development of gastroenterology and hepatology activities through UTHealth's affiliation with the Harris Health system, w(Login for Information) we have strong presence at Lyndon B. Johnson County Hospital and Quentin Mease. Moreover, the TMC is the largest medical center in the world, with 21 hospitals, eight academic research institutions within just a few miles.

Qualifications:
- Associate Professor appointment for at least two years.
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or equivalent
- Texas Medical License or be eligible for a Texas Faculty Temporary License.
- American Board of Gastroenterology certification or eligibility statement.
