Gastroenterology Locums Job in Texas | Scheduled Clinical Hours + Call | ASAP - Ongoing | Assignment #115191

Coverage Details
-- Monday–Friday procedural schedule
-- Typical day includes ~10 hours in clinic + call
-- Credentialing timeframe: 30 days (temporary privileging available)

Call Details
-- Beeper call
-- Call response time: 30 minutes
-- Light call volume with approx. 1 phone consult per shift
-- Call coverage includes both inpatient and ED consults
-- Average call back per week: 2 hours+

Requirements
-- Fellowship required
-- Active Texas medical license required
-- ACLS
-- BLS

Required Procedures / Skills
-- Upper GI endoscopy (including biopsy, foreign body removal, fulguration of bleeder, variceal injection)
-- ERCP (diagnostic and therapeutic) - preferred
-- PEG placement
-- Esophageal dilatation/manometry and interpretation
-- Small bowel biopsy
-- Lower GI endoscopy
-- Flexible + Rigid sigmoidoscopy
-- Liver biopsy
-- Insertion/management of Sengstaken–Blakemore tube
-- EUS - Preferred

Assignment Details
-- Patient volume: 20–30 patients per shift
-- Support staff includes 2 NPs assisting with pre- and post-procedure workup
-- Trauma Level: 3
-- Coverage needed due to long-term vacancy and increased endoscopy demand
-- Proceduralist-focused role with scheduled colonoscopies and inpatient GI consult follow-up
-- Hospitalists manage primary care with GI consult support as needed
-- Call is light and primarily for GI bleeds via ED
-- EMR: Epic
