Job Description

The Division of Critical Care Medicine at (Login for Information) Children's Hospital, Delaware is seeking a Board-eligible/Board-certified Pediatric Intensivist to join our team at (Login for Information) Children's Hospital-Delaware in Wilmington.

Candidates with at least 3 years of experience working as an attending physician in a pediatric intensive care unit or pediatric burn unit and with specific expertise/experience in one or more of the following domains are especially encouraged:

• Burn management in the intensive care unit

• ECMO

• Respiratory care

• Faculty education/Medical Education Scholarship

This physician will have direct involvement in patient care in our 24-32 bed pediatric ICU, including the management of patients with various medical, surgical, and trauma-related critical illnesses. Duties will include daytime clinical service and in-house nighttime call responsibilities, including overall direction of patient management, procedures, and education of resident, fellow, and other trainees. Physicians are expected to work closely and professionally with nursing and ancillary departments in effort to maintain a teamwork approach to family-centered care.

Academic interests in research, informatics, quality improvement/patient safety, education, or administration/operations that supplement clinical expertise are required to optimize professional contributions locally and to help expand (Login for Information) impact on pediatric critical illness regionally and nationally.

Qualified candidates will be:

• Fellowship trained in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine with at least 3 years of experience working as an attending physician in a pediatric intensive care unit or pediatric burn unit

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine

• Eligible for an unrestricted medical license in Delaware

• Have a demonstrable area of academic pursuit in research, informatics, quality/patient safety, medical education, health services, and/or administration/clinical operations to complement clinical expertise

• Available to start on or around Fall/Winter 2026 (though exact start date is flexible)
