Job Description

The Division of Neonatology at (Login for Information) Children's Hospital Delaware is seeking to hire a Neonatal Hospitalist to work in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The candidate should be a Board-eligible/Board-certified physician who has (or will have) completed a pediatric or family medicine residency, with or without additional subspeciality training. The NICU Hospitalist will join our team at (Login for Information) Children's Hospital-Delaware in Wilmington and will have direct involvement in bedside patient care within our Level IV, 46-bed neonatal ICU under the supervision of a board-certified neonatologists. Duties will include daytime in-house clinical service during weekdays and weekends. Support, education, and training will be provided. Night call and holiday coverage may be required as part of the job responsibilities for this position. NICU Hospitalists will be expected to attend various clinical and educational conferences and work closely and professionally with neonatologists, NICU fellows, advanced practice providers specifically trained in neonatology, rotating residents, medical students, and nursing and ancillary departments in effort to maintain a teamwork approach to family-centered care. The NICU Hospitalist position will generally be supported for at least one year, though this timeline may be adjusted based on the candidate's career plans.

Academic interests in research, informatics, quality improvement/patient safety, education, or administration/operations that supplement clinical expertise are encouraged and will be supported, though are not required.

Qualifications

  • Graduates (or planned graduates) of an ACGME residency in pediatrics or family medicine, with or without additional subspeciality training
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in pediatrics or Family Medicine
  • Eligible for unrestricted medical licenses in Delaware
  • Start date is flexible based on candidate availability
