About the Clinician's Workday

This Hematology/Oncology locum tenens opportunity is for a board-certified or board-eligible MD/DO who has completed a combined Hematology and Oncology fellowship. The position involves outpatient clinic coverage with 8-hour on-site shifts (8 AM5 PM) and night call, ideally during the second week of each month for approximately 6+ months, starting as soon as credentialed (6090 days). The practice uses EPIC EMR and treats adult patients only, with a 75% Hematology and 25% Oncology case mix. The provider should hold a KY license or be IMLC-eligible. Responsibilities include seeing a maximum of 1520 patients per day, primarily new hematology consults and follow-ups of stable Hem/Onc patients. Providers must be skilled in chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood transfusions, lumbar puncture, radiation, and ablation therapy; however, the facility does not treat acute leukemia or sickle cell patients. Chemotherapy is administered by nurses at an on-site infusion center. Locums will not alter existing treatment plans and will be supported by a medical assistant. Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, and DEA.
