This mid-size academic medical center provides specialized hematology and oncology services across inpatient and outpatient clinic settings, with payer enrollment support available for the locum clinician. The facility maintains a clinical team that includes two additional physicians and two advanced practice providers to ensure continuous support throughout the assignment. Hospital credentialing for this position can be completed in approximately 30 days, with a target start date in July.

About the Clinician's Workday

The hematologist/oncologist will provide inpatient and outpatient clinic coverage on a day shift schedule, structured as either four 10-hour shifts or five 8-hour shifts per week, with one daytime call responsibility per week and no night or weekend call obligations. The clinical case mix is approximately 70% oncology and 30% hematology, with the majority of work occurring in the outpatient clinic setting and approximately one day per week dedicated to inpatient rounds at the hospital. Clinicians are expected to handle 0-3 new consults and must maintain thorough documentation through the Epic EMR system for all patient encounters and treatment planning activities. Board certification in Medical Oncology and prescriptive authority are required for this assignment.
