About the Clinician's Workday

The hematologist/oncologist will provide inpatient and outpatient hematology and oncology coverage Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, managing 17 patients per day with 1 hour allotted for new patients and 20 minutes for follow-up visits. Call responsibilities include fielding questions from registered nurses regarding patients who contact the practice with concerns, patients receiving chemotherapy on the day of service, and consults from the emergency department, which are described as minimal in volume. The clinician will have access to dedicated pharmacists who conduct educational starts for chemotherapy, and clinical operations are supported by co-located radiation oncology services within the same facility. Clinical trial participation, including phase 2 and phase 3 studies, is available as part of the scope of this assignment.
