Job Description
- Part-time NBN Hospitalist in a very busy NB Nursery
- Comprehensive medical care for newborns
- Pediatric Resident Teaching
Key Responsibilities:
Part time position 20hrs per week. Weekend coverage on a shared basis.
- Direct Patient Care: Providing medical care to newborns, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of common neonatal conditions.
- Inpatient Management: Managing newborns in the nursery, including those in the Acute Baby Nursery (Level 1).
- Diagnostic Testing: Ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostic tests like lab work and X-rays.
- Treatment Initiation: Initiating treatment for sick newborns, including prescribing medications.
- Monitoring and Evaluation: Monitoring patient care and treatment plans, adjusting as needed.
- Discharge Planning: Preparing newborns for discharge, including providing instructions to parents.
- Education and Teaching: Participating in the education of medical students and residents
- Quality Improvement: Participating in quality improvement initiatives related to newborn care.
