Job Description

The Division of Neonatology, Department of Pediatrics at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt (MCJCHV) seeks a BE/BC Pediatric Hospitalist/Newborn Medicine pediatrician to serve at one or more of our community-based nurseries. The Neonatology Division is currently comprised of neonatologists, pediatricians, and NNPs who staff a variety of services including Community Based NICUs and Newborn Nurseries. We have nurseries all over middle Tennessee including Cookeville Regional Medical Center, Sumner Regional Medical Center, Tennova Clarksville, Vanderbilt Wilson County, and Williamson Medical Center.

Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt has once again been recognized as a leader in pediatric health care, earning the title as the No. 1 children's hospital in Tennessee and sharing the top spot in the Southeast, according to the 2025-2026 U.S. News & World Report “Best Children's Hospitals rankings”. The Children’s Hospital currently has 363 inpatient beds after the recent completion of two additional floors, making it the largest pediatric hospital in Tennessee.

Qualified applicants must be board-certified or board-eligible in Pediatrics or be eligible for licensure in the State of Tennessee. Applicants with a clinical focus in Hospital Medicine with special interest and training in delivery room and newborn care will be considered. Competency in circumcisions is strongly desired. The preferred candidate will demonstrate a track record of excellence in clinical care. Applicants desiring a part time position will be considered.
