This faculty position is primarily clinical, with a focus on inpatient geriatric care at Memorial Hermann–Texas Medical Center. The faculty member will play a key leadership role in advancing geriatric consultative services and supporting high-quality, interdisciplinary care for hospitalized older adults. Opportunities for engagement in education, program development, and scholarly activity are available and supported based on the candidate’s interests.
The position is based at Memorial Hermann–Texas Medical Center and includes direct patient care, supervision of learners, and participation in divisional activities that support the clinical and academic mission.
Position Key Accountabilities:
- Provide direct inpatient geriatric care at Memorial Hermann–Texas Medical Center
- Serve as the primary attending physician for the Geriatric Consult Service, leading clinical operations and developing strong collaborative relationships with physicians, hospital leadership, and community partners
- Provide coverage for the Acute Care for Elders (ACE) Unit
- Supervise and teach medical students, residents, and fellows in both inpatient and outpatient settings as part of routine clinical care
- Collaborate within interdisciplinary teams to support patient- and family-centered care planning and complex medical decision-making
- Contribute to the development and growth of geriatric programs within the hospital setting
- Participate in divisional and departmental service activities that support clinical operations and patient care
Qualifications:
- M.D. or D.O.
- Eligibility for or active Texas Medical License.
- Board certification or board eligible in Geriatric Medicine
- Board certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
