Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Designated Institutional Official (DIO), the Program Director is responsible for overseeing the Internal Medicine Residency Program. This leadership role involves administration, curriculum development, recruitment, teaching, and supervision of residents. The Program Director will set the strategic direction of the program, uphold standards of quality and reputation, and foster integration with physician practices and hospital services to promote an environment of excellence in medical education and professional practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide overall leadership and strategic vision for the Internal Medicine Residency Program.
- Manage program administration, including curriculum planning, resident recruitment, and evaluation.
- Lead clinical teaching and supervision of residents, ensuring high standards of education and patient care.
- Organize and participate in committees, meetings, and conferences.
- Conduct lectures, teaching sessions, and scholarly activities.
- Oversee resident evaluation, monitoring, and program assessment.
- Facilitate integration of the program with hospital operations and physician practices to enhance value and quality.
- Support research and scholarly activities among residents.
- Maintain program accreditation standards and continuous quality improvement.
Qualifications:
- MD degree or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of post-residency clinical experience in Internal Medicine.
- Core faculty experience in an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine Residency program.
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching and administrative experience as Program Director or Associate Program Director.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Proven track record of research, scholarly publications, and presentations.
- Experience in mentorship, resident supervision, and program development.
- Inpatient and administrative experience preferred.
