This regional medical center in Valdosta, GA is seeking a board certified/board eligible Internal Medicine physician to join our GME clinic and work with our residents. Come grow with us and provide best in class quality healthcare to our community.
We are pleased to offer a unique faculty opportunity for a board-certified Internal Medicine physician to serve as a teaching preceptor for our Internal Medicine Residency Program’s continuity clinic. This position is ideal for a physician passionate about medical education, mentorship, and outpatient primary care.
The Medical Center is the most comprehensive health system serving South Georgia and North Florida. It operates four hospitals across Lowndes, Berrien, and Lanier counties. The system also operates ambulance services, an extensive medical office network, a cancer center, hospice facility, retirement center, skilled nursing facility, imaging centers and urgent cares. Service lines of regional prominence include heart and vascular, stroke, trauma, cancer, orthopedics, surgery, and women and infants ‘services.
Position Description:
· Full-time, Monday – Thursday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Friday 8 AM - 12 PM
· No call responsibilities
· Hospital-employed faculty role within SGMC Health’s Graduate Medical Education (GME) clinic
· Serve as a clinical preceptor, supervising and mentoring Internal Medicine residents in their continuity clinic
· Guide residents in evidence-based patient care, professional development, and practice management
· Work in a collaborative, team-based academic environment with opportunities for scholarly activities

Qualifications:
· Board-certified in Internal Medicine
· Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Georgia
· A strong interest in teaching and mentoring residents in an academic clinical setting
· Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and referring physicians
· Passionate about quality improvement, evidence-based medicine, and resident education
· EPIC electronic medical record experience is a plus
· Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with a commitment to fostering a positive and innovative learning environment
